Parker Ray Powell

Parker Ray Powell, 72, of Fulton, AR., passed away on May 18, 2026.

Mr. Powell was born on September 14, 1953, in Hope, Arkansas, to Betty Jo and Wesley Gene Powell.

He was a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Frito Lay after a long career of more than 40 years. He built and maintained a lasting relationship with co-workers there, who he affectionately referred to as “my boys”

In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching all the Razorbacks sports, and indulging in an ice cream sandwich. He loved to ride down to the river and check on his cattle, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Mr. Powell’s family remembers him as a kind, caring man, who never hesitated to pick up a phone and check on his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength in the hearts of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon Powell; three children, Lisa Burke (Jewell), Crystal Anderson (Joey), and Ashley Roberson (Eric); seven grandchildren, Drake Anderson (Allie), Cullen Burnette, Karlie Burke (Jordan), Layne Anderson, Kaleb Anderson, Cooper Roberson, and Parker Roberson; three great-grandchildren, Taggert, Everly, and Elsie Jo Anderson; his sister, Debbie Putman (Rick); his brother, Jeff Jones (Judy); a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The family of Mr. Powell would like to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to the staff of Hospice of Texarkana for the care, love and respect shown to Mr. Powell and his family during his time there.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home – Hope.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:30 AM, at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home – Hope.

Burial will follow at Central Cemetery.
