Hempstead County Historical Society will meet on this

HOPE – The community of Washington in Hempstead County was founded in 1824 and has several landmarks names after American heroes. Do you know who Franklin Street is named after? During this America 250 year, many have been focusing once again on many of the founding fathers of our country. Come hear from HCHS President Josh Williams about some of these people and why the streets of Washington were named after some of these American heroes.

The Hempstead County Historical Society will meet on Tuesday evening May 26, 2026 at the Tailgaters Burger Company Annex Room in Hope, Arkansas at 7pm. The room is located at 101 South Main Street. Everyone is welcome.

The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
