ROSSTON – The Nevada School District Board met on 8-20. After the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance, the board had a roll call. All were present. The Board reviewed the June meeting minutes. The minutes of the special meetings — on July 15th and July 29th were reviewed as well.
Mrs. Foster gave a report on the teachers. A math teacher, Gerret Walker, will be taking some training. Some students will be able to take a work-study with an electrician, instead of attending classes necessary for that skill. There are some students that are taking dual credit industrial and EMT classes at UAHT. There is one student who has also enlisted in the Army. He is slated to return from boot camp next week.
The Board looked over the last couple of months of financial statements. There was a passed motion to approve the financial statements. The school board has received bids for surplus buses. Superintendent Roy McCoy recommended the sale for bus 11and 19 for $700 and $800, respectively, to McKennon. The Board went into executive session. After the Board got out of session, the Superintendent recommended hires for the school. Those hires were Zaria Kenzel and Adrionna Russel.
The meeting was then adjourned.
