Souper Bowl Of Caring Slated For Friday & Saturday
HOPE – For the 10th year, the community is asked to support Hope In Action by bringing food to the Souper Bowl of Caring collection site at 611 South Main Street in Hope. Non-perishable food or cash contributions are accepted. The group will be there Friday, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and Saturday, from 9:00am until 3:00pm.
Over the past nine years the people of the community have contributed nearly 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food and over $6,600 in cash. All contributions go to Hope In Actuon.
The drive every year is hosted by the First Presbyterian Church of Hope. Kathleen Hignight, pastor of the church, says that other churches in town help with the drive. “This year the First Assembly of God Church is providing their trailer for food collection and delivery,” Hignight said.
