Rock Star Visits Hope Academy Of Public Service

HOPE – Dr. Sandra Chandler, geologist for the Arkansas Geological Survey, takes Carol Hendrix’s science class through the various classifications of rocks during a hands-on presentation on geology at the Hope Academy of Public Service.

Dr. Chandler discussed the geologic composition of Arkansas as it has affected the economy and culture of the state throughout its history, from the ancient weapons Native Americans made with obsidian to the graphite used in pencil lead.
