Severe Weather Expected Today

Friday will usher in the first of three – at least – weather systems that could easily give our area severe weather, with damaging, straight-line winds, large hail and even a tornado or two. The greatest threat with this first system is the damaging winds.

At this time, 0615 hours, there is a line of storms located in West/Central Texas. This line will march East, strengthening as it encounters the warmer temperatures across Texas.

Our area is expected to begin to see storms in the afternoon, with some super cells (individual storms that form ahead of the line) possible. This stormy period could continue until after sunset.
