Howard County Farmers Market Friday
NASHVILLE – Expected at Friday’s Howard County Farmers Market:
Under the Pavilion – Mount Pleasant Bees and Produce with green tomatoes, new potatoes, white, yellow, green and purple onions, Sugar Ann peas, kale, radishes, fresh-from-the-garden cilantro; local honey, beeswax bars, handmade soaps, lotions and lip balms and peanut brittle;
Fields Farm with various herbs and other bedding plants including dill and rosemary, lavender, cutting celery, butterfly milkweed, tomato and pepper plants, perhaps some carrots, and more;
Salinas Farms with strawberries, yellow straight-neck squash, zucchini, cabbage, broccoli, onions, new potatoes, jellies and honey;
Solomon Farm with their first green beans of the season, onions, new potatoes (Yukon gold and red), beets and carrots; whole wheat and bran bread, cinnamon raisin bread, local honey, hand-crafted bath and hand-crafted body products;
The Kitchen Table with dinner rolls, artisan and sourdough breads, cinnamon rolls, peach coffeecake and strawberry muffin bread;
Dennis the Menace Farm with yellow squash, yellow zucchini, cabbage and farm fresh eggs (high in omega-3’s!);
Aunt Fern’s Fried Pies with various fried pies, including chocolate, sweet potato, strawberry, pecan and pina colada;
Brown’s Family Farm with onions and eggs;
Jan’s Jams & Jellies;
Mrs. Edna Morris’ with her fried pies!
D&S Service Center will be sponsoring hospitality. Taste This! will feature Savory Beet Smoothies and Steamed Cabbage with Corn Gravy. This week’s Vendor Spotlight is Solomon Farm. In the Garden – Don’t forget to visit NDOG, where Howard County Agri Agent Kaycee Davis will be discussing soil sampling and soil tests. Also, NDOG volunteers will be discussing growing tomatillos in the garden organically and will be giving away tomatillo, basil and other plants for your home garden! At Kidz Klub this week, the kids will be learning to plant veggies and herbs in the garden.
