Mrs. Lura Jean Willis

Mrs. Lura Jean Willis, age 83 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at her home.  Mrs. Willis was born on April 5, 1934 in the Holly Grove Community of Hempstead County, Arkansas to Herman and Luvegia Willis Worthey.  She was a member of Emmet United Methodist Church in Emmet, a choir member and a Sunday School Teacher. It was said she “lived and preached her own funeral”.  She is preceded in death by her parents; Herman and Luvegia Worthey and a brother; Frank Worthey.

Survivors include; her husband of 25 years, Dale Willis of Hope, three sons; Bob Willis of Hope, Richard Willis, wife, Linda of Ripley, TN and Ronald Willis, wife, Sue of Emmet, AR, a daughter; Bonnie Bennett, husband, Donny of Texarkana, AR, a brother; James Worthey of Texarkana, AR, two sisters; Sybil Poole of Nocona, TX and Vonda Moore, husband, Bob of Perrytown, AR, ten grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 1:00 to 2:00pm on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 S. Main Hope, AR.

Funeral service is 2:00pm, Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with burial in Worthey Cemetery in the Holly Grove Community, with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating.
