Mr. Floyd Wright

Floyd Winston Wright, 81, of Hope, AR, passed away early Tuesday, July 27 in Texarkana, TX.

Floyd was born in Bodcaw, AR to J.T. and Lorena May Wright on July 9, 1936.

Floyd worked as a maintenance shop manager at Lonestar Army Ammunition Plant in Texarkana and retired from there after 35 years but he was a farmer at heart. Floyd worked his family’s small farm in Spring Hill, AR for many years growing mainly watermelons. He was a member of the Rafter J Cowboy Church in Hope.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Judy Arnold, and a son, Ralph Buckley.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Joan Wright, of Hope, AR; sister Mary Ann and husband Ron Gill of Van Buren, AR; daughter Carolyn Stigaullde of Red Water, TX; daughter Sheila Fuller and husband Rodney of New Boston, TX; daughter Susan Otwell of Red Water, TX; daughter Susan Evans and husband Terry of Emmet, AR; son Donnie Buckley of Red Water, TX; daughter Donna Campbell and husband Chuck of Texarkana, TX; son Victor Buckley of Texarkana, TX; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren as well as a number of other family and friends.

A private family visitation is scheduled for Friday. Visitation will be Saturday, July 29 at 10 a.m. at Rafter J Cowboy Church located at 4913 Hwy 29 S. Hope, AR. Funeral Service will be held directly after the visitation at 11 a.m. Services will be officiated by Pastor Terry Evans. Burial will follow the funeral at Anderson Cemetery in Spring Hill, AR.
