HOPE- The new Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Director, Beckie Moore, began her first week in office this past Monday.  Moore has been a part of nonprofit organizations for 22 years where she has served as executive director and development director for various nonprofit organizations in TX, OK, TN and AR.

Ms. Moore is originally from Hope but moved away in 2001 and recently returned to serve in her current position.  She also has family members who live in Hope since her older son, Daniel Bramlett, and his family moved to Hope when Daniel accepted the call to become the pastor of First Baptist Church.  During her previous time in Hope, Moore taught English at Hope High School and later served as the Director of the Clinton Birthplace Foundation during the years that President Clinton was in the White House.

Once the Watermelon Festival comes to a close, Moore and the Chamber Board of Directors will come together for a strategic planning session in order to work on goals and objectives for the future of the chamber.  Moore desires to create programs such as Leadership Hope to allow people to learn about the chamber and the community as a whole all-the-while gaining leadership skills and planning community-wide projects.  She wants to help the chamber strengthen what they offer to the chamber members and recruit new members throughout the year.  As Director, Moore hopes to see growth in the downtown community. She wants to encourage business owners and those who desire to start a business to drop by the chamber to discuss business opportunities in downtown Hope.

When asked what she looks forward to in serving as the chamber director, Moore said, “I am excited to work alongside board members and other community members in setting goals that will benefit the chamber and the community. I am looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish as a team.  No doubt I am thrilled to reconnect with friends and make new ones as we “put feet to the mission” of the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce!”
