Spring Hill Wins Homecoming Game
Spring Hill- The Spring Hill Bears had a homecoming victory over Genoa Central tonight, September 15th. The dragons had a quick start to the game scoring the first touchdown of the night in the first quarter. The bears had a slow start with a few incomplete passes and running out of bounds, and having a turnover on downs.
The dragons lead the second quarter, with their second touchdown of the night. Keymonte Rhodes for the Bears had a 61 yard run touchdown in the second quarter, followed up with an extra point kick by number 81. Payton Massanelli had a pass to Lewis Chambers making it first and goal for the bears, followed by Massanelli being the quarterback keeper for the next two plays followed with a Touchdown and an extra point kick.
The halftime started with the game tied at 14. With performances from the Genoa High School Cheerleaders, the Genoa Marching Band, and the Spring Hill Bear junior and senior high cheerleaders.
The third quarter started with Massanelli returning the ball to the 28 yard line. The Bears offense then stalled out, forcing them to punt. Bo Jewel and Cole Allen with the dragons made some first downs followed by a touchdown made by Jewel. Hays Martin with Bears returned the kickoff to the 35 yard line. Rhodes had a gain of 9 yards getting the bears a first down. Massanelli made a pass to Drake Kidd who was in the end zone getting another Bear touchdown followed by an extra point field goal. The dragons started at the 35 yard line, with a turnover on downs. For the final touchdown of the game, Lewis Chambers with the Bears had a 73 yard touchdown run followed up with a bear two point conversion making the final score 28-29 Bears winning their homecoming football game.
