Powell new Industry Outreach/Community Ed director at UAHT
HOPE – The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana recently named Anna Lee Powell as the new Industry Outreach and Community Education Director. Powell previously served at the college as the Community Education Coordinator and Kids’ College Director since 2016.
Powell was born and raised in Stuttgart. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from the University of Central Arkansas in 2011. She has held positions at the Chamber of Commerce in Conway, Hewlett- Packard Software Division, and Iroko Pharmaceuticals.
“I am excited about the opportunity to help develop and expand community education and industry development partnerships in Hope, Texarkana, and throughout the region,” said Powell. “There is a goldmine of potential in our area. Between the existing business and industry, the beneficial location of Hope and Texarkana, the hard-working people, and the resources UAHT has to offer, I believe we will see some great things happen to increase opportunity here.”
The Industry Outreach and Community Education Division at UAHT provides continuing education opportunities to our communities and businesses to promote personal growth, enrichment, and competitiveness within the economy. The division offers classes to serve the comprehensive educational needs of the community. Recognizing that the educational needs of any individual are not only academic and career oriented, but also cultural and vocational, the staff designs and arranges non-credit and credit courses, workshops, seminars, and activities which offer opportunities by which these needs may be met.
