Southwest District Fair Parade

HOPE- The 73rd Annual Southwest District Fair kicked off Tuesday, September 26. The fair parade took place down its normal route down Elm Street and Division. Leading the parade as Grand Marshall was State Representative of District 3, Danny Watson.  The Hempstead County and Nevada County Queens all rode in the parade. For those who would be competing in the Southwest District Pageant all represented their county. Several of our local officials, such as Judge Haskell Morse, Karen Smith, and Christie McQueen all took part of the parade.  Emergency response vehicles from Hope Fire Department, Patmos Fire Department, and Pafford EMS all were shown with lights and sirens for the kids.

The Spring Hill Homecoming float won the Junior aged division with the float for the Hope FFA coming up in second. The winner for the senior division was the float for Heather Manor Nursing Home. Little Miss Miller County Anna West, placed third in the car category, and Little Miss Nevada County Blakely Glass placed second. Hope Haven King and Queen drove away with win for best car.
