HOPE- The Southwest Research and Extension Center on Highway 174 east of Hope is the official weather reporting station for Hope. The SWREC reported just .30 of an inch of rain for September. This compares to a normal rainfall of 3.8 inches for September. The year to date normal is 38.7 inches while the actual rainfall through September for Hope is 41.85 inches. Despite the drought conditions rainfall is still above average over three inches.
The high temperature for September was 96 recorded on September 19th. The low was 51 recorded on September 7th and 8th. The station recorded lows in the 50’s on ten days with most of the lows being in the 60’s and two days recorded lows in the 70’s.
October has started off warm but a cooling trend should be seen the middle of the coming week.
