Retirement party held for Mattie Tidwell
PRESCOTT – A retirement party was held for Mattie Tidwell for her 26 years of service with Prescott Manor.
The party, held Friday afternoon, gave former co-workers the chance to wish Tidwell well on her retirement. Tidwell said she has no plans other than enjoying life, working on her music skills and her church activities.
During her time at Prescott Manor, she spent six years on the floor and 20 working in the kitchen. She was said to have always shown up early for her shift and did the best she could, always looking for what needed to be done without being told.
“I did my best to make things better,” she said. “This is nice and I appreciate all you’ve done for me, but I’m glad I was able to retire so I can do other things.”
Tidwell was bestowed with several retirement gifts.
Along with Tidwell’s retirement, Food Service Week was also celebrated.
