SANTA2PRESCOTT-BLEVINS – Christmas season in Prescott kicks off Saturday, Dec. 2, when Santa visits the Nevada County Depot and Museum.

The jolly old elf will be at the museum from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Children are invited to come by and let him know what they want him to bring them this year. However, they must remember, he still has the naughty and nice list he’ll be checking twice, so they need to be on their best behavior. Tours of the 1920-era caboose will also be available. Santa will read ” A Visit from St. Nick” as well.

Next comes the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce events (see related story for more details). These events include the business decorating contest, the annual Christmas parade, with Santa’s Workshop as its theme and Christmas on the Square on Dec. 7. On Dec. 9, the Chamber will host Breakfast with Santa at the Potlatch Building.

On Dec. 9, Emmet will hold its annual Christmas parade. Entries will line up at the old school at 5 p.m. and hit the trail at 6 p.m., winding through the community and ending up at the Chuck Wagon where Santa will make an appearance and visit with children. Cookies and hot chocolate will again be available.

Blevins will host its annual parade on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. Floats and other entries will line up at the school at 5:30 p.m. with the parade starting at 6 o’clock. The route will head down Hwy. 29, cross Hwy. 371 and wind its way through the community on its normal route.
