SANTA COP8

HOPE – Members of the Hope Police Department shop for Santa Cop at Wal-Mart in Hope.

This program is funded entirely thru donations from the community as well as local clubs and employees of the Hope Police Department. Santa Cop is officer nominated and based off of citizen contacts throughout the year. This year, the Hope Police Department raised $340 through donations from their annual P.D. Rookies vs. Veterans softball game.

Also this year, members of the department participated in a Beard Tax. For the months of October, November, and December, Officers were allowed to not shave their beards for the donation of $10 per month. Our beard tax totaled to $250. We would like to thank the employees of Wal-Mart who were quick to help. We would like to thank the following for donating this year:
Brazzell Oakrest Funeral Home
S. Davis Family
S. Featherston Family
Doris Brown
Circle JB Farms
Ruth Wilson
Smiles of AR Dental Center
Susan Still
Dennis Ramsey
Deborah Malek
Steve and Darla Featherston

and all the anonymous donations.
The HPD was able to provide needed clothing, toys, shoes, and presents for seven families in need with a total of 17 children, with ages ranging from one year to 17 years old. Members of the Hope Police Department will deliver the items on Christmas Eve.
