Mrs. Ruth Faye Basham Hankins

Mrs. Ruth Faye Basham Hankins, 72 of Hope, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 in Hope, Arkansas. She was born November 5, 1945 in Prescott, Arkansas to John and Miriam Wilson Basham.

Ruth was a member of Hope Church of Christ and served as the church secretary for over seventeen years. She and her husband ran Home Furniture and served in the furniture business in Hope for forty-three years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and father; one sister, Pauline and four brothers, JR, Bob, Parmer and Raymond.

Mrs. Hankins is survived by her husband of fifty years, Ronnie Hankins of Hope; one son, Jay Hankins of Hope; one daughter, Julie and James Harrington of Hope; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Colton, Brook, Rae, Drake, Harlie, Kolby and Lexie; one great grandchild, Lilah and one sister, Anna Lou Milam of Prescott.

Visitation will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Hope. Funeral service is 10:00am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Hope Church of Christ. Interment will follow at 1:00pm in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas with Barry Haynes and Don Tate officiating under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Hope.

The family ask in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Rainbow of Challenges 500 South Main Hope, AR 71801.
