Dr. Charles Head

Dr. Charles Head, age 76, passed away in Hot Springs, Arkansas on February 9, 2018.  Charles was a member of Sweet Home Church, Blevins, Arkansas.  He was a devoted son of God, actively working in the Body of Christ.  

 

He was born on September 6, 1941, in rural Hempstead County, Arkansas.  He graduated from Prescott High School in 1959. He received his B.S. with High Honors in Physics in 1962 from The University of Arkansas (UA) in Fayetteville where he met his wife of 56 years at Freshman Orientation for Physics Majors.  He received his Ph. D. in Physics from UA Fayetteville, in 1965.  He was Professor Emeritus at the University of New Orleans after a 30-year career there as a teaching and research Professor of Physics

 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Claud Everett and Irene Elizabeth Head of Prescott, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Moore Head of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three children, a daughter, Deborah Head McDaniels, and two sons, Charles Franklin Head with his wife, Karri, and David Allan Head; two grandchildren, Sarah Head and Connor Head; and seven brothers and sisters, Carolyn Sue Hill, Gaylon Head, Kay Schane, Shirley Ann (Sam) Hill, Judy Roberts, Dean Head, and Terry Head.

 

Visitation, 6:00 to 8:00pm on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at BRAZZEL/Cornish Funeral Home 1196 Hwy. 371 West in Prescott.

 

Funeral service, 2:00pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Sweet Home Church in Prescott with Bro. Mike Fitch officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Home Cemetery. Arrangements are by BRAZZEL/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director. Online registry:www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com
