Three arrested in Powell robbery

HOPE – Three people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of Powell Grocery on Jan. 11.

Otis Ellis

Otis Ellis, 42, of Bradley, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. on March 4. He was charged with aggravated robbery, felony theft of property, residential burglar and possession of a firearm by certain person. The arrest was the result of a warrant obtained for him for the robbery at Powell’s. He was picked up at the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office where he’d been picked up on the warrant.

Ellis was taken to Hope where he was placed in the Hempstead County Detention Facility awaiting his first court appearance.

Maurice Trammell

Maurice Trammell, 44, of Hope, was arrested on Jan. 26 by the HPD. He was charged with aggravated robbery and felony theft of property in connection with the Powell robbery.

Exie Trammell

The third person arrested was Exie Trammell, 37, of Hope. She was arrested on Jan. 26 and charged with aggravated robbery and felony theft of property.
