An upper level trough will move east of the area early Thursday shifting the cold front east with high pressure building in wake of the system ending the rainfall. Widespread rainfall amounts of two to four inches, with higher amounts of four to six inches possible before ending.

The heavy rainfall may lead to flooding, especially in low lying and poor drainage areas, and potential river flooding as water runoff drains.
