Sue Ellen Hastings Nelson peacefully found the best fishing hole Heaven has on early Friday morning, September 7th, 2018. Sue was a member of Morris Missionary Baptist Church in the Caney community. In addition to fishing, she loved quilting. One Christmas she made sure every family went home with one of her quilts—she spent the year making an additional fifteen quilts. Sue was born August 27th, 1933, to John and Lydia Hastings in Laneburg, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters and one daughter—John (Mary) Hastings, Sam (Erma Jean) Hastings, Willard (Hazel) Hastings, James (Bonnie) Hastings, Mae Gourley, Maggie (Ivey) Cross, Lucille (Harlan) Wicker, and Connie Nelson Wells.She is survived by three daughters—Shelley (David) Dickson, Doris (Alan) Wright, and Laurie (Bobby) Pilgreen and adopted daughter Beverly Dickson. She was mammaw to Aimee (Jason) Hughes, Cito (Stacey) Dickson, Jamie (Loren) Miller, Joshua (Anna) Dickson, Jacob (Kayla) Wright, Cheston (Heather) Wright, Ross (Mary) Pilgreen, and Ethan (Haley) Pilgreen and adopted granddaughters Mandy and Nikki Dickson. She loved being Granny to Aaron, Ashtynn, and Chandler Hughes, Lane and Abbie Dickson, Timothy and Sarah Miller, Luna Dickson, and Emerson Wright. She was looking forward to adding Amelia Wright and Rachel Pilgreen to that list!! There are numerous nieces and nephews and special friends that are also included in her surviving family. The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Morris Baptist Church Youth Fund c/o 271 Nevada 40 Rosston, AR 71858.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, September 10, 2018 at Morris Baptist Church in the Caney Community with Bro. James Ray Raines and Bro. Jim Cross officiating.
