2019 Politically Correct Watermelon Eating Contest

HOPE- Elected officials from the federal, state, and local governments competed in the politically correct watermelon eating contest. The contest took place on the Bancorp South Stage at the 43rd Annual Hope Watermelon Festival. The contest was sponsored by UAHT. Chancellor, Chris Thomason introduced each of the eleven contestants. Members of the UAHT team served as judges to see who could eat their slice of watermelon the quickest. Hempstead County Sheriff, James Singleton took home the trophy for the event. Trent Garner came in second place, and Harper Smith received third place.
