2019 Watermelon Eating Contest
By Staff, 08/10/19 6:46 PMThe watermelon eating contest took place during the 43rd Annual Hope Watermelon Festival on Saturday, August 10. The contest takes place each year on the Bancorp South Stage. Dave Phillips manned the competition with help from volunteer judges and melon slicers. The competition was broken down into three age divisions and then the first place winner from each division went head to head for the overall watermelon eating champion.
0-6 year old:
1st place Drake Cingolani from McGee, Arkansas
2nd place Diamond Williams from Hope, Arkansas
3rd place Eva Drawdy from Hope, Arkansas
7-16 years old:
1st place Timothy Landes from Hope, Arkansas
2nd place Irelyn Kane from Benton, Arkansas
3rd place Zack Landes from Hope, Arkansas
16 and Older:
1st place Tynesiha White from Hope, Arkansas
2nd place Whitley Richards from Hope, Arkansas
3rd place Kimmie Burkhalter from Blancard, Louisiana
Overall Champion:
1st place Timothy Landes
2nd place Tynesiha White
3rd place Drake Cingolani
