Wendell Murry

Mr. Wendell Murry, age 75 of Emmet, Arkansas, passed away Sunday August 11, 2019, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Wendell was born on February 27, 1944, in Emmet, Arkansas, to Perry and Doris Pratt Murry. He was retired form the Arkansas Department of Transportation serving in many capacities. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Emmet and a United States Army Veteran serving in the First Calvary Division receiving a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. He was a true sportsman, enjoying all kinds of hunting and fishing the Mississippi River. Wendell was a true friend to all he “Liked”. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy Murry, sister Gail Herron and one grandchild Jonathan Quantie.

Survivors include: son Gil Murry, wife Connie, of Emmet daughter: Kim Harrison of Hope, brother: Carl Murry, wife Mary Beth of Emmet, nephews: Clint Murry, wife Jackie, Rick Murry, wife Holly, three grandchildren: Troy McClure, Brian Quantie, Brittany Ammons, seven great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday August 14, 2019, at Brazzel/Oakcrest 1001 South Main Hope, Arkansas 71801.

Funeral services will be 10:00am on Thursday August 15, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Emmet with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial to follow in Snell Cemetery with military honors.
