Final brick order today

PRESCOTT – Today is the last day to order a brick to help bring back the Spirit Bell for Prescott High School.

A team from Leadership Nevada County is working to bring the bell back and build a platform for it. These bricks will be engraved.

In the past a bell, at one end of Cummins Stadium, was rang every time Prescott scored. The bell has been gone since the 1980s, but the leadership group has decided to bring it back to show support for the Curley Wolves. The group is inviting all citizens and alumni to help bring the Spirit Bell back.

To do this, the group is selling memory bricks to raise money to buy a new bell and make a home for it. The bell came from the old elementary school and was used to ring in the school day. Students were chosen daily to ring the bell. When the current PES was built, the bell was moved to the football field where Prescott High School is.

Orders will be taken through Aug. 1. To place an order, call LaShelle Hamilton, Cassidy Lawrence, Dennis Pruitt or Colby Tillman. Order forms are also available at the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Office.

The cost is $100 per brick.
