Flu clinics set
PRESCOTT – Yes, it’s still August.
Yes, it’s still hot and muggy.
Yes, pharmacies are already offering flu shots for the upcoming flu season. And, yes, pharmacies are charging for these vaccinations.
The Nevada County Health Unit will be hosting its annual mass flu clinic on Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Weather permitting it will be a drive-through clinic so motorists won’t have to get out of their vehicles. Those coming for the flu shots are asked to wear loose fitting short sleeve shirts and tops.
While there is no out of pocket expense for anyone, everyone is asked to bring their Medicare, Medicaid or insurance card with them. Vaccinations will be given to anyone regardless if they have insurance of not.
This is for people six months old and up.
Flu clinics have also been scheduled for the schools in Nevada County. The first will be at the Nevada School Library in Rosston on Oct. 1, from 8-11:30 a.m. in the school library. There will also be a mini-mass clinic for others who couldn’t get to the mass clinic on Sept. 26. This will be from 1-5 p.m., also at the library.
For the Prescott School District, the clinic will be from 8:30-11 a.m. on Oct. 8, in the activity center at Prescott Elementary School.
