Wolves host Tigers in first round of state playoffs
PRESCOTT – High School football playoffs begin Friday night.
Prescott’s Curley Wolves won the 5AAA conference with a perfect 7-0 record in league play. The Wolves will be at home for the first game as the team entertains the Charleston Tigers in the first round of the AAA playoffs.
Prescott is in the same bracket quadrant as Booneville, Hoxie, Drew Central, Dollarway and Jessieville. Hoxie will entertain Drew Central, while Dollarway travels to Jessieville.
The bottom half of the left side of the quadrant has Genoa Central head to Harding Academy; Yellville Summit is at Newport; Harrisburg goes to Athens; and Perryville will travel to McGehee.
Osceola has a bye for Friday night on the upper right quadrant of the AAA playoff bracket. However, Mountain View will go to Greenland; Walnut Ridge tangles with Glen Rose; and Melbourne will go to Centerpoint.
The bottom half of the bracket sees Baptist Prep at Rison; Lakeside at Lamar; Mansfield going to Camden Harmony Grove; and Smackover going to Clinton.
The state title game is set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
