PRESCOTT – Mayoral candidate Colby Tillman sponsored a community coffee Friday morning at the Nevada County Library.

He told those attending there’s a lot going on in Prescott and the community needs to come together. His goals, if elected, are to work and revitalize vacant properties and increase employment. This, he said, has been a long time coming and changes need to be made for the entire communit.

“The race for me isn’t about me running,” he said, “but about the single mothers and fathers trying to get by, kids looking for a role model and elderly couples trying to make it. It’s time for everyone to come together.”

A video played in the background showing Tillman and volunteers picking up trash. It also showed Tillman in some of the more depressed parts of the city.

A “Fun Day” will be held at McRae Park from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on April 23, he said, adding there will be vendors, food, bounce houses and music. The public is invited to attend.
