By Taylor Massey, 04/6/22 7:26 PM

Ms. PecoliaMeMaw” Hicks was born February 19, 1932, in Waldo, Arkansas, the eldest daughter of sharecropper, Mr. Wyatt “Bud” Loudermill and Mrs. Ophelia Loudermill.

She returned to the arms of the Lord Saturday, March 12, 2022, at National Park Medical Center, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Pecolia went to school in a 1-room church at Oak Grove in Waldo until the 8th grade. She had to stop going to school so she could help her mom, grandmother and grandfather. She took her first job at the age of 16 at Anderson Cafe in Waldo, Arkansas where, by the time she was 20, was promoted to head cook.  Pecolia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age, through the teachings of her mother. She was a member of the Woodridge Street Church of Christ, in Hot Springs. She enjoyed reading the bible, cooking and attending to children. Her love for taking care of others led her to a career of taking care of a doctor and his family. Once she retired, she committed to attending to children full time and developed a love for all kids that she cared for. She had a unique relationship with all whom she met, and she was loved by many.

Pecolia had a keen sense of fashion and as the saying goes, she was always “dressed to the nines.” She also had a powerful voice and always enjoyed singing classic hymnals.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Wyatt and Ophelia Loudermill; 4 brothers: J.C (Daniel) Loudermill, Nathaniel Loudermill, Napoleon (her twin) Loudermill and TheodisLoudermill; one sister, Mary Frances Loudermill; one son, Terry Hicks and a special friend, Donnie (D.L) Giles.

Ms. Pecolia leaves to cherish her memories, sons: Themus “T.J” Hicks Jr (Vera), Troy Hicks (Molique: deceased), Shelia Stephens (Sammy) all of Hot Springs, Sharon Hicks, of Newark, CA, Michael Hicks (Stephanie) of Woodbury, MN, UlanderJones (Simuel) of Hot Springs, Odis Hicks, of Newark and one brother, Hampson Loudermill; 16 grandkids; 25 great-grandkids and a host of extended family and friends.
