PRESCOTT – Friday was “let the good times roll” at the Prescott Farmer’s Market as it was the site of the 8th Annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce’s Crawfish Boil.

Lagniappe, which means a little something more, again boiled the shrimp and crawfish, as people lined up to buy mudbugs. Lagniappe brought 130 pounds of shrimp, 330 pounds of crawfish, 150 potatoes and 250 ears of corn. Jamie Hillery, Chamber director, said her office sold 300 pound of crawfish and 120 pound of shrimp prior to the event.

Volunteers bagged the goodies as most got theirs to go. However, plenty stayed, enjoying the warm afternoon and dined at the farmer’s market pavilion. Quite a few were there early and when the initial rush was over, there was a steady stream of customers wanting shrimp and mudbugs.
