June Posts Above Average Rain, Temps

Despite summer hitting hard in June the month was still cooler and wetter than average according to records kept at the University of Arkansas SWREC (Hope’s official weather station).

Hope received 5.19 inches of rain in June.  That compares to a normal average of 4.61 inches.  Rain is also up  for the year.  Normal year to date rainfall is 28.21 inches and at the end of June, Hope had received 32.51 inches meaning rainfall is 4.30 inches above average for the year.

Temperatures were cooler despite some warm days.  The average air temperature for the month was 71.07 degrees compared to a normal air temperature of 77.4o.  The high temperature for the month was 97 on June 26th.  There were 16 days of highs of 90 or above.  The low temperature was 60 which was recorded June 28th, 29th, and 30th.
