Youngsters enjoy “The Little Mermaid”

PRESCOTT – Area youngsters were entertained with a performance of “The Little Mermaid” Tuesday at the Nevada County Library.

Skylar Frishman and Zach Gibson, with the Bright Star Touring Theater Co. of North Carolina, performed their version of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid”. However, the show had little to do with Andersen’s story as the two played off one another, mostly with Gibson working to keep Frishman from going into songs from the Disney movie. Members of the audience were also called upon, with one youngster asked to introduce the duo and let the rest of the crowd know they’re the “greatest actors in the world”.

Frishman said the company performs worldwide and was asked to come to Prescott. The troupe is performing three shows, “The Little Mermaid”, “Treasure Island”, and for the younger crowd, “The Pirate of Bully Bay”.

A question and answer period was held after the performance.
