Merritt Clyde Scott “BUZZ”, 86, of Hope

By Mark Keith, 10/12/22 9:03 PM
Merritt Clyde Scott “BUZZ” 11-03-1935 – 10-10-2022   Buzz passed peacefully, surrounded by friends and family during his last few days. Special thanks to Mike and Amanda McBride for all their loving care. Noble Johnson for always being close; not just as a friend but family. Sharon Britton (niece) and Hope Haven for a safe, friendly harbor. Buzz was born to Earl and Marion Scott in Colorado. Buzz spent his life as a truck driver. At the age of 14 he began pulling tall timber down the narrow dirt roads of Colorado. He traveled to California and soon met the love of his life, who became his wife and mother to their children, Barbara Jean East. He fancied the guitar, his band and western music. But the love of the Big Rig and HWY fever called him back to the road. In time, he left driving and became an equipment operator. He did this for quite a while until Barbara passed. Again, the HWY called his name; until he had a terrible accident which ended his driving career. He moved his family to Hope, April 1976 and never left. During these many years, he befriended a multitude of people, which are far too great to list. During his life in Hope, he laid his mother, Marion Scott; son, Brian; Wife; daughter Debbie, and the light of his eye’s daughter, Bobbie Gail Biddle; to rest as well as, his sisters Ethel Brown and Ailene Stratton.
He is survived by son, Gregory; grandsons, Tyler Biddle, Orrie Bradley Jr, Evan Scott and Kasie Sloan. Along with several Great Grandchildren.  A memorial will be held on a later date.
