Retired pastor Reverend Phil Hathcock of Maumelle will be the guest pastor for First United Methodists of Hope Sunday, September 24. First United Methodists meet at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 301 S. Elm, in Hope.
Rev. Hathcock served 41 years as a United Methodist pastor prior to retirement. His appointments in the Arkansas Conference included Eureka Springs, Siloam Springs and Conway; and he was appointed Superintendent of the Central District in 2004. For the three years prior to his 2013 retirement, Rev. Hathcock was Director of Connectional Ministries and Assistant to the Bishop of the Arkansas Conference.
In retirement, he has served interim appointments at Cabot, Little Rock, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. For over 25 years, Rev. Hathcock has been an on-air volunteer for the state public television network, Arkansas PBS.
He and his wife Gwen reside in Maumelle and are the parents of two children and four grandchildren.
First United Methodists of Hope invite everyone to worship and to hear Rev. Hathcock’s message this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
