PRESCOTT – A fire alarm came in around 1 p.m. Friday concerning Casa Carlos restaurant.

Two crews from the Prescott Fire Department responded. The staff escorted patrons outside as smoke began filling the establishment. A fan was brought out to help blow smoke from the building’s interior.

On the back side of the building, firemen leaned a ladder against the structure and climbed up to see where the heat was coming from. A chainsaw was used to cut through the roof with water sprayed inside to extinguish any possible flames. According to preliminary data, the fire may have started in an air conditioning closet due to faulty wiring. This isn’t known for sure as an investigation needs to be conducted.

Damage, though was minimal, mostly due smoke and water. Casa Carlos’ will possibly be closed for a few days for clean up and repair.
