On November 11th, 2023 Officer Matthew Whitney received a call in reference to an unresponsive person. Upon arriving, Officer Whitney assessed the unresponsive person and administered Naloxone (Narcan) to the subject. Officer Whitney’s actions preserved life until the subject could be transported to a medical facility.

On Monday, May 6th 2024 Officer Whitney was awarded a Life Saving Award from the University of Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute.
