Hope School Board

The Hope School Board met in the Administrative Building on Wednesday (7-24) There was a rental request for the High School Cafeteria for the Kiwanis Pancake Supper. A motion passed to approve the request.

The next topic was the High School cell phone policy. While some specifics may yet be decided, the general policy is prohibiting student cell phone use on campus during regular school instruction hours. Discipline actions for violating policy will be presented in the student handbook each student receives at the beginning of the school year. The district will be providing more information in the upcoming days. The policy as presented was approved by the board.
The next topic was a transfer of a student from Magnolia. The Board approved the transfer.
The last item was the personnel packet which included three certified and two classified positions. A motion passed to accept the personnel packet as presented. This leaves only two positions for the school district still open – one Special Education position and one instructional facilitator position.
With no other business the meeting adjourned.
