Nevada County 4-H Fun Day
The Nevada County Extension Service held a Fun Day on the 22nd. There were 11 children and several adults participating. The looms were brought out and the participants learned to plain weave using paper. They moved on to a variety of looms and got to try their hand on a 4 harness loom.
There was also an art project making gift tags and Christmas ornaments. Archery and BB gun shooting were other activities.
Next Fun day will be January 28th when they will be barbecuing chicken. BBQ cook-off competitions will be practiced in order to ensure there is enough chicken participants are encouraged to let the Extension know their interest beforehand.

The Nevada County 4H is doing a food drive to benefit Food Share. People can drop off in the Extension Office. The drive will run until December 16th. Personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, deodorant, soap and shampoo will also be accepted as well as children’s food snacks and monetary donations.
