…COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM CST MONDAY…

…WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 AM CST MONDAY…

* WHAT…For the Wind Advisory, southwest winds 20 to 25 mph
becoming northwest with gusts up to 40 mph expected following the
passage of a strong cold front. For the Cold Weather Advisory,
very cold wind chills as low as 5 above expected across Northeast
Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and adjacent sections of Southwest
Arkansas. For the remainder of East Texas, Southern Arkansas, and
North Louisiana, very cold wind chills ranging from 10-15 degrees.

* WHERE…Portions of south central and southwest Arkansas, north
central and northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, and east and
northeast Texas.

* WHEN…For the Wind Advisory, from 10 AM this morning to 6 AM CST
Monday. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight to 9
AM CST Monday.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Wind
chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Keep
pets indoors as much as possible. Ensure portable heaters are used
correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
