Davis Purifoy Jr. was born in Bluff City, Arkansas, on November 29, 1952, to A.D. Purifoy and Charlene Beard. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hope, AR.
Throughout his life, Davis held a variety of jobs, including positions at Firestone, Hudson Foods, Egg City, and Tex-Ark Joist. He was a hard-working man until his health began to decline.
Affectionately known as “Pip” or “Big Papa,” Davis loved fishing and cruising the streets with his music bumpin’.
Davis gained his angel wings on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 72 in Hope, AR. He will always be remembered in our hearts and souls.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.D. Purifoy, and his brother, James Otis Purifoy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Charlene Beard; children, Corrie (Deborah) Purifoy, Kevia (Perry) Cowan, Carolyn Purifoy-Thornton, Davis Purifoy, Todd McCain, and Ryan (Lamonica) Harris; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially his grandson, Damarion Purifoy, and great-grandson, Daelyn Parker; brothers, James (Jovan) Purifoy and Willie (Jeanette) Purifoy; sisters, Dorothy (Jackie) Horton, Adell Purifoy-Hardamon, and Marilyn Purifoy-Taylor; bonus children with Kathleen Elliott, Lola Hamilton, Anthony Pollins, Ray Pollins, Stacey Pollins, and Gregory Pollins; along with a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
