Ashlie Tompkins was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Dorothy and Ricky McKamie. From a young age, Ashlie had a deep love for nature, animals, and helping others. As a child, she came to know Jesus and was saved, a faith that remained an important part of her life.
As she grew, Ashlie’s passion for helping people became her purpose. She earned her degree in nursing and later transitioned into emergency call taking, where she was credited with four CPR life saves—an incredible reflection of her selflessness and dedication to others.
Ashlie was a loving wife and mother who poured everything she had into raising her three beautiful children, Karson, Russell, and Lilli Tompkins. They were the center of her world, and her love for them was unmatched.
She was the kind of person who would stop in rush hour traffic to save a turtle, and the kind who would give the shirt off her back with a genuine smile. Ashlie never hesitated to put others before herself—especially her children. She loved Jesus, butterflies, music, Italian food, true crime documentaries, fishing, and late-night drives, but above all, she loved her children.
Ashlie is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy McKamie, and her grandmother, Joan McKamie.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kyle Tompkins; her children, Karson, Russell, and Lilli Tompkins; her father, Ricky McKamie, and Lesley McKamie; her parent, Tabatha McKamie; her siblings, Trevor, James, Tryston, Sunny, Heaven McKamie, Stormy Rose, Trey, and Kameron Maroon; and her grandfather, Charles McKamie.
She is further survived by her extended family, including Marilyn Tompkins, Peggy Rothwell, Cindy Renfro, and Rick Renfro; Bridgett Hawthorne and Jerry Hawthorne; Steve Tompkins and Heather Tompkins; and Darlene Tumbleson, Anita Tompkins, Evan Tompkins, Landyn Tompkins, Raley Potter, Dalton Potter, Dallas Tompkins, Hunter Tompkins and Erin Tompkins, Amber Tompkins.
Ashlie was deeply passionate about her family, her career, and the wellbeing of everyone in her life. She made people feel seen, loved, and cared for in a way that will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home.
