Statement on false alarm at a Hope School District campus, juvenile arrested

HOPE – On Thursday, April 16, 2026, at approximately 12:23 p.m., the Hope Police Department was
made aware of a possible threat at a Hope Public School District campus.

School staff immediately followed established safety protocols, and law enforcement officers
responded promptly to the scene to assess the situation and ensure the safety of students and
staff.

Following an investigation, it was determined that there was no credible threat to students or
staff, and the campus was deemed safe.

As a result of the investigation, a juvenile subject was taken into custody and charged with
communicating a false alarm.

The Hope Police Department emphasizes that the safety of the community, especially its
children, remains its highest priority. Incidents of this nature are taken seriously, and all reported
threats will be thoroughly investigated.
