The Hope Bobcats traveled to Magnolia on Tuesday April 21st to open their final week of the season. In an uninspired outing, the Cats lost 10-0 to the Panthers.
From beginning to end, the Bobcats simply could not hold their own against the sharp offense and pitching from the Panthers. Panthers Pitcher #2 Daylon Glass would round up his evening with nine strikeouts only allowing a single hit. The home team struck immediately in the bottom of the first inning, with four runs scored on a defensive error and a triple of singles. Although the Bobcats would hold together for two solid defensive innings between the second and the third, the onslaught would continue in the fourth with an extra three runs being scored. In the top of the fifth, #4 Cayden Haywood would record the lone hit for the Bobcats, although it would not be backed up. Finally, Magnolia would bookend the game with a finishing three runs to end the game early in the bottom of the fifth.
The Bobcats will finish their 2026 baseball season with a two day home sprint starting with the Horatio Lions on Thursday April 23rd, at 5:00pm.
