Nevada Schools High School Honor Graduates recognized

ROSSTON – Nevada High School’s Graduation Ceremony is set for Monday, May 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium. Six seniors will graduate with honors.


Trevor Gibson, son of Patrick and Kim Gibson, will graduate as a junior with highest honors. He plans to attend Texas State Technical College this fall.


Justin Myrick, son of Jerry and Brandi Myrick, will graduate with highest honors. He serves as Senior Class President, Student Council President, and National Honor Society President. He is the manager of the Yearbook Staff, in the Gifted and Talented Program, and a member of the Bluejay Baseball Team. Justin is on the all “A” Honor Roll, an Arkansas Scholar, Nevada High School’s Student of the Year, and recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. He is one of five Seniors of Distinction and one of two seniors recognized by Governor Sarah Sanders on Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day for excellent academic achievement in the senior class.

Myrick plans to attend Southern Arkansas University to pursue a degree in Accounting and Finance.


Keyonte Wingfield, son of Shontay Wingfield and Rodrick Purifoy, will graduate with highest honors. He serves as Senior Class Vice President and is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Yearbook Staff, and the Bluejay Basketball Team. Keyonte is on the all “A” Honor Roll, an Arkansas Scholar and Mr. NHS. He is one of five Seniors of Distinction and one of two seniors recognized by Governor Sarah Sanders on Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day for excellent academic achievement in the senior class. He was selected an All Star Player in basketball and will play for the FCA All Star Team in June.

Wingfield is currently working on his HVAC certification and plans to continue his education at a trade school in the fall.

A’mariya Haynie, daughter of Shaun and Cynthia Haynie, will graduate with high honors. She is a member of SAU Upward Bound and received the Outstanding Behavior Award and Biology Award. She is an Arkansas Scholar and one of five Seniors of Distinction.

Haynie plans to enter the workforce as a pharmaceutical or sonography technician.

Paxtyn Tolar, daughter of Tamara Tolar, will graduate with high honors. She is in the Gifted and Talented Program and a member of the Volleyball and Trap Teams. Paxtyn is very active in the FFA Program where she has showed her pig “Big Momma” and earned several awards including 1st in Exempt Speaking Sub-division, 1st in class division Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion in the District Fair, 1st in class division Grand Champion, 4th overall at AYE, 1st in class division Grand Champion, 3rd overall in the State Fair, 1st in class division Grand Champion. Paxtyn won 16 banners and a belt buckle this year with her smoker trailer build. She is the FFA-State Champion (Girl Power), 1st in Southern District (State CDE)-Dairy Cattle Evaluation, and 5th overall Farm Bureau Ag Mechanics Contest. Paxtyn is an Arkansas Scholar and recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.

Tolar plans to attend Southern Arkansas University and enter the Pre-Veterinary Program.

Nathan Gibbs, son of Chris and Maria Gibbs, will graduate with honors. He attended international school in Xi’an, China where he was in Bible Club, International School Band, and a volunteer for Living Bread English Club. He is a member of National Honor Society, an Arkansas Scholar and has been a member of the Bluejays’ Basketball and Track Teams where he earned 4th in conference in 2025. Nathan is currently enrolled in concurrent credit courses at UAHT and will graduate with 30+ credit hours. He is on UAHT’s Vice President’s List and a Drummer at Logos Christian Center Church.

Gibbs will complete an Associate’s Degree in Construction Technology at UAHT in 2027 and plans to go into contracting business with his brother.
