HOPE, Ark. — A new downtown venue aimed at keeping celebrations local officially opened its doors as community members gathered for a ribbon cutting and open house at The Studio & Events, located at 113 S. Elm St.
The ceremony began at 9:30 a.m. as guests assembled inside the venue, where owner Heather Clements invited her husband, Daniel Clements, to offer an invocation. The prayer set a faith-centered tone for the launch of the new business before attendees moved outside for the ribbon-cutting. The formal opening included a symbolic unlocking of the front door with a large gold skeleton key, representing The Studio & Events’ opening to the public.
Local leaders, friends, family members, and residents attended, along with Miss Hempstead County Fair Shelby Gilbert, whose presence underscored the hometown support behind the new venture. Following the ceremony, guests returned indoors for brunch, fellowship, and casual tours of the venue. The open house featured a juice bar and a raffle giveaway, which included $100 off a future event, offering a preview of the experiences the space is designed to host.
The Studio & Events is co-owned and operated by Kamber Neely, owner of the Downtown Market, and Heather Clements, a professional photographer and small business owner. The pair said the concept developed over time as they recognized a growing need for a dedicated event space in downtown Hope. Hope often hosts celebrations and meetings outside the city due to limited venue options, Neely and Clements said. Their goal is to provide a well maintained, affordable space where residents and businesses can gather locally to create memories and do business close to home.
The venue includes a large banquet hall, a prep room designed for more intimate gatherings, and a kitchen and service area to accommodate a wide range of events, from weddings and receptions to meetings and community celebrations. Décor throughout The Studio & Events reflects a timeless elegance reminiscent of years past, yet contemporary, meshing the two owners’ tastes. While the venue’s suggested maximum capacity is around 150 people, the owners believe events with 75 to 100 guests allow for greater comfort and flexibility.
Friday’s brunch featured a wide variety of food and juices, offering guests a glimpse of the catering possibilities available for future bookings. At least one upcoming event has already been scheduled, Neely said.
Both co-owners bring established business experience to the partnership. Neely continues to operate Downtown Market, while Clements previously ran The Studio as both an antique and home décor shop and a photography studio. Heather Clements Photography business is doing well, and is an added perk to the new business. The Studio & Events is now booking events and can be contacted at info@thestudioandevents.com.
