
BLEVINS – The Blevins School Board held its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
The meeting opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Board members reviewed and approved the April 2026 meeting minutes and financial reports.
During new business, the board discussed the current school board vacancy and noted that no applications have been received. The superintendent reviewed the legislative audit with the board, which was approved unanimously.
The board also discussed storm damage bids related to the gym gutters and fine arts building. Three bids have been submitted to the state, and the district is awaiting final selection.
Information was shared about the Blevins Virtual Academy, including current interest in the program. The board also discussed the HUB program, which allows juniors and seniors to work while attending school. The board approved continuing the program.
The annual Norman Hill contract in the amount of $10,000 was approved. The board also approved the newly established Park Family Scholarship.
Student highlights were presented, including a 1A State Champion in high jump, a 1A State Runner-Up in the 1600 and 3200 meter events, and the baseball team’s participation in the regional tournament.
The curriculum coordinator presented a report, with additional updates provided by the principal.
The board accepted a bid from Hollis Heating and Air for air conditioning unit replacement and repair in the amount of $8,680.
A reminder was given that Blevins Graduation will be held May 15 in the high school gymnasium.
The board entered executive session at 7:13 p.m. and returned at 8:00 p.m. Following executive session, the board approved the personnel list as presented.
