
HOPE – The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades will offer a hands-on blacksmithing course June 20–21, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Led by instructor Luke Sorensen, the two-day course will give participants the opportunity to step into the forge and learn the art of blacksmithing. The class is designed for beginners and for those looking to sharpen their existing skills.
“This course is a great opportunity for students to learn traditional blacksmithing techniques while creating something unforgettable,” said Jennifer Teresa, Dean of Technical and Industrial programs at UAHT.
The cost of the course is $350. Space may be limited, and early registration is encouraged.
