LANEBURG – Nevada County Sheriff Danny Martin released a statement Sunday regarding a fire and vehicle break-ins:
“The man wearing black clothing and a hoodie was transported to Prescott after being searched and identified. So far there is no proof that he has done anything wrong. Yes, he was escorted off of a man’s property earlier this morning. It has been reported that he has knocked on several doors asking for water and a light for a cigarette.
From the information I have gathered there was a structure that burnt on Highway 371 South and a couple of vehicles broken into. But the items that were reported missing from the vehicles were not in his possession at the time he was searched.
