
Nita McClure Waddell Crews was born in Sherman, Texas on September 3, 1946.
She was a graduate of Abilene Christian College. She worked for the Tennessee Department of Human Services in Chattanooga, also for the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services. In her later years she took joy in providing housing for the community with her landlord business.
Being a mother and grandmother was one of the greatest joys in her life.
Nita wanted to help bring people to Jesus, she was always upbeat and positive.
She loved making up songs and singing them to all.
She is survived by her three sons; Roman Daniel Waddell, Samuel Waddell, and Nathan Waddell; granddaughter, Miranda Crews; two sisters, Marsha McClure and Sally (Ray) Buttrey; along with numberous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Waddell and husband, Dick Crews; parents, John and Mary McClure; brother, Robert McClure.
Nita loved her Lord, her family as well as her church family, and her country.
Nita will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home with Preacher Corey Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home, The Funeral Home of Hope, Ben Brazzel, Director.
